Trinity College’s Kaushalya Weeraratne was the winner of the Observer Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year Award in 2000.
Weeraratne born on 29th January 1981 in Gampola, captained Trinity College, Kandy for two consecutive years. He was a member of the under-19 Youth World Cup team and captained Sri Lanka under- 19 cricket team’s tour of England.
After his school career he played for major teams Bloomfield, Colts, CCC, NCC, Kandurata and Ragama CC in the premier league tournaments and Twenty-20 tournament.
