Sri Lanka Air Force anniversary

The Royal Ceylon Air Force was on March 2, 1951. At the start, the Royal Ceylon Air Force owned no aircraft. The Royal Ceylon Air Force’s first trainer, the Chipmunk was ordered in 1950 and the first batch of four aircraft arrived in Ceylon in October the same year.

This year, the Sri Lankan Air Force celebrated its 70th anniversary from March 2. For the celebratory air show conducted by the Air Force at Galle Face Green, Colombo March 3–5, the Indian Air Force (IAF) participated with Suryakirans, Sarang and LCA Tejas.
