The Environment Ministry began a program to plant 5,OOO mee trees in the area surrounding the Weerawila lake in the Southern Province on February 14, this year. The program ‘s theme was ‘A Plant for Love’ and was intended to commemorate Valentine’s Day more meaningful with both the young and old participating. This program was launched in parallel to the Government’s Husma Dena Thuru tree-planting program.
