My country

17 January, 2021

My country is Sri Lanka. It is surrounded by the Indian Ocean. It is small and beautiful. The capital is Sri Jayewardenepura, Kotte. Our President is Gotabaya Rajapaksa and the Prime Minister is Mahinda Rajapaksa. There are nine provinces and twenty five districts. Many communities live in my country including Sinhalese, Tamils, Muslims and Burghers. The national tree is the Na tree, while the national flower is Blue Water Lily or the Nil Manel.

The national bird is the Jungle Fowl while the national animal is the Squirrel and the game is Volleyball. There are many historical places in Sri Lanka. The longest river is the Mahaweli and the highest mountain is Piduruthalagala. There are many waterfalls, lakes, rivers, gardens, beaches and mountains to which foreigners are attracted.

The beautiful waterfalls, Dunhinda and Diyaluma are great gifts given by nature. My country is very beautiful and clean.
