The annual Sports Meet of children’s homes administered by the National Child Protection Board (NCPB), was held at CH&FC grounds recently. It aims the developing athletic skills of needy children. The winners received awards from the chief guest Minister of Education, Sports and Youth Affairs, Dullas Alahapperuma. NCPB, affiliated to the All Ceylon Buddhist Congress, oversees 17 children’s homes, providing shelter for 1,000 needy children in the island.
