An unforgettable day

22 December, 2019

Everyone has an unforgettable day in their life, which could be either happy or sad. But mine was rather strange.

My 15th birthday was on a fine Saturday. l had invited 10 of my friends to join me to celebrate. That evening, I bought cake, ice-cream and snacks to share with them and organised a few games. But unfortunately, five of my friends informed me that they were unable to attend the party as they couldn’t cut their tuition classes. The rest of my friends also called me and informed me of their inability to attend the party. I’ve never got hurt this much before. All my friends refused my invitation. As well, no one wished me that morning.

After all this happened, I called my mother. She was not to be seen anywhere at home. I yelled for dad too. I couldn’t find him too. I was a bit scared. Suddenly, the lights went off in the house. I was frightened and didn’t make a move. In a flash, I heard a big sound like a cracker. Unexpectedly, everyone, including my best friends, mother and dad and relatives screamed ‘Happy Birthday’ with a giant cake!

I’ve never experienced this much of surprise in my life. I was overjoyed and started to cry. But lovingly, they apologised for playing a prank on me. This is the best day I have experienced and enjoyed. I was happy as a lark that day.
