Series of activities during Holidays at the British Council library, Kandy.

1 September, 2019

To engage the children during the school holidays, we organised a series of activities that were fun and interactive. On 6th and 8th August the children had fun with English Language games. These were based on the themes colours and sea creatures. They learnt spelling, pronunciation and grammar through a variety of games and activities which made it very enjoyable.  On 7 August it took a more creative nature, where the children used recycled material to create a wall hanging. Working with used cardboard, newspaper, water colours and glue, they created  a beautiful wall hanger and learnt the value of re-cycling. In keeping with the Perahera season, it was T-shirt ornamenting on Friday 9 August where they decorated an elephant on a T-shirt, in all its splendour. The children were very happy and pleased with their creations and some even suggested wearing this T-shirt when they go to see the Perahera. The week’s events culminated with an enthralling story telling session on Saturday 10 August.
