Ravana Sithabhilashaya – a musical, will go on the boards at Punchi Theatre, Borella on April 2 at 5 pm.
The play is jointly scripted by Prof J. B. Dissanayake and Namel Weeramuni. The latter has directed the play. The production has been reviewed by Prof: D. C. R. A. Goonatilleke as “Innovative, Superhuman Interpretation and is likely to go down in the history of Sinhala drama as a landmark stylised play of our times.” Music compositions and training are done by two award-winning veterans, Jayantha Aravinda, and Lionel Gunatillake. The choreography is brilliantly created by the young, imaginative and talented Akila Palipana.
