The Countryside

7 October, 2018

Thousands of acres of grassy land
Glittering rivers with golden sand
That flow beside the farm beyond
Fields that are rich with corn
The cock gives the alarm to commence the day
And country folk get started with their work in glee
The meadows full of mooing cows
Like the sky covered in white doves
The tractor is seen below the hills
Which are home to the tall mills
Horses gallop at top speed
Making their way through the breeze
When dawn falls pushing dust away
Little birds chirp back to their nest straight away
And when the night sweeps the light
Bringing darkness to the countryside.
Everything is silent except the hooting of owls
And the crickets croaking sounds.
