Hypnosis is a popular subject, but, there is a dearth of literature on it in the Sinhala language. Thus there are many misconceptions about the science and concept of hypnosis among the public. To fill this void, veteran award winning journalist Champika Deepani Ranasinghe of Lake House has compiled an informative book titled, “Sanasumata Maga Kiyana Mohana Vidyawa” (Science of Hypnosis for Solace) based on the advice of Dr. P.N. Vidyakulapthi, Chairman, Association of Hypnosis Practitioners of Sri Lanka.
This advice was given over the course of two decades, for a series of articles on hypnosis that appeared in the Tharunee and Subasetha newspapers. Ranasinghe has written a number of other Sinhala books for adults and children on a variety of topics.
The book will be launched during the Colombo International Book Fair, to be held from September 21 to 30 at the BMICH, Colombo.
