The Hunger Games is written by Suzanne Collins and was first published in 2008 by Scholastic. The story revolves around a fictional country named Panem. The rulers of Panem are very cruel and they keep their 12 districts under control by forcing them to send a teenage boy and girl to participate in the hunger games, which is a fight for survival on live TV.
When Katniss Everdeen steps forward to take her sister’s place in the games she has an adventure where she has to make tough choices. This is the kind of book that generates constant suspense. I like this book because it is written in away that drags the reader’s mind directly into the story.
