Post Shooting

A destined journey
With bouquets of flowers
Best garments, ornaments
Adding more beauty,
Overflowing blessings
A happy big crowd
Under summer huts
And around round tables
Enjoying, Boasting……..;
An auspicious day is spent
When the bells of destiny
Ring for two hearts
Away from their homes
Probably inviting many a year
To chase away
The dark clouds of debts
Hanging over their rented house!

A. Jayalath Basnagoda

The triangle - duty, love and power

Every smile has success
Every sadness has a smile
Every power has submission
Every failure has success
Every demand needs challenge
That’ s what you lack
“My wife is pragmatic
What she said is true”
It may be,
But you ignore humanity
Thou art selfless selfish.
Every thing is conquered time
Every activity does not last
Every bond dissolves
Every thing reverses
Every activity needs sacrifice
Every thing is transient.
New comers come
Old ones leave
Every action has a reaction
Can any one change this truth?
This is ALL what you need to know
Duty For Duty’s Sake (Immanuel Kant)
Even power and unjust
trample you.

The Painter

If I were a painter, I would draw your beauty for all humanity to see
In structure and grace you cannot be compared
Your eyes so divine, so clear, so blue
I see my bare soul reflected in your eyes so true
You treat me with such kindness I feel so unworthy
Yet in your eyes I see a sadness so deep to understand
I will never break your tender heart twice
To do so would be cruelty unforgivably damned
You ask me to bake a cake and throw a party
Yet I wonder whether in these you would find true gaiety
I found my heart leaping into your bosomAs you stood close
without much motion

I would gladly offer the gift of prayer,
If ever God would hear a wretch like me pray
That you would soon find your soul-mate true
And return to paradise once lost renewed

-Timothy A Edward

 The Dove

The dove that I love and adore
Will soon fly back to its loving nest
I wish I had the wings of a dove to soar with her
To explore the depths only she can show
Kiss me with your hot lips once and for all
Seal your sweet fragrance upon my soul
Cruise with me the deepest waters
Until love flows between and through us
Dance before me darling goddess in disguise
You advice kings and ministers - advice this peasant soul
Who forgets to breathe in your presence
Your body my wonderland
My heart keeps asking for more and more
Bathe me in your love; embrace me with your being
Let my fingers burn in your heart
Poems of love only for you!
