Recently, I read the first book of the Malory Towers series – First Term at Malory Towers. It is written by the British author Enid Blyton and published by Hodder & Stoughton. The story is written around the main character Darrell Rivers when she goes off to boarding school for the first time.
Malory Towers is located near a great cliff by the sea and it has a beautiful driveway and swimming pool. There are four dormitories named North, South, East and West towers, and the first form Mistress is Mrs. Potts. Darrell soon makes friends with Alicia and Betty who play pranks in class. Darrell also solves the mystery surrounding Sally Hope and her strange behaviour and they become best friends. Then they find that the most unpopular girl in the form, Gwendoline Mary is cheating Mary-Lou. I like this book because it is a story about a wonderful school and it tells us who true friends are.
