Due to dengue fever that prevailed recently, hundreds of valuable human lives were lost. There were also health services personnel among them. Persons who have fever for more than a couple of days should seek immediate medical treatment. Realising the gravity of the dengue menace, the health authorities organized several campaigns to clean schools, towns and home gardens in areas where there was a high level of mosquito breeding. We must clean our home gardens regularly, especially on rainy days. Water logged containers should be kept clean and dry, and waste must be put into garbage bins.
