
Dinuka Krishan Kumara of Harischandra Maha Vidyalaya, Negombo topped this year’s Grade 5 Scholarship Examination. He obtained 198 marks in the exam. Indumini Jayaratne from Welipillawe Kanishta Vidyalaya, Ganemulla and Sanjana Nayanajith from Thulhiriya Kanishta Vidyalaya were placed second scoring 197 marks.
Placed third with a score of 196 was Tharul Sahas Dharamaratne from Kirillawala Primary School in Kadawatha. Ten students were placed 4th a with each of them scoring 195 marks.
Dinuka lives in Kattuwa, Negombo with his family. His father Wasantha Kumara is a businessman, his mother Chrishanthi Shiromala is a housewife. Dinuka says he wants to continue his higher studies in the Mathematics and Technology stream.
“All students should study hard and try to obtain good marks for the scholarship exams,” he said adding that he too studied diligently and worked hard with the aim to be placed at least among the first ten students.
