My favourite book is Oliver Twist. It is written by Charles Dickens and was first published in 1839. The main character of the book is Oliver Twist who is a poor, orphaned boy. The other characters in the book are Mr. Bumble, Mrs. Sowerberry, Mr. Brownlow, Mrs. Bedwin and Fagin.
Oliver’s mother dies while giving birth to him, and he is sent to live in a workhouse. Poor people were sent to the workhouse when they did not have any money. Oliver’s master is Mr. Bumble. He is a scary, bad, cruel man. And Mrs. Sowerberry is a cruel woman. But there are good people too in this story. Mr. Brownlow and Mrs. Bedwin are kind people who are good to Oliver. At last Fagin is sent to prison. And Mr. Brownlow takes Oliver to live with him as his son with the housekeeper Mrs. Bedwin. The story of Oliver is very interesting and emotional.
