The restoration of Mirisewatiya

3 September, 2017

Mirisewatiya is a very large dagaba in Anuradhapura. It was built by King Dutugemunu. Today it is in the process of restoration under the supervision of the Cultural Triangle and the Archaeology Department. Many of the pilgrims visiting Anuradhapura helping in with the restoration work. The villagers make bricks and mix cement. Some of them also help in the carpentry work.
