My ambition is to cure brain disorders

27 August, 2017

Why did our moms give birth to us? Why are they taking good care of us right from the start? They know our value. What I want for myself is to serve the sick and poor since they cannot afford the treatment, by becoming a neuro - related doctor. I study at Highlands College, Hatton and am in Grade Nine. I chose this aim because of my friend's accident. He had to face many head injuries.

I am Vaithiyanathan Sambanthan Pradhurshika. I want to become a neuro surgeon and cure brain disorders. It is a nobel profession. I wish my dream comes true to satisfy the expectations of the people who will admire me as a doctor. I will work with great dedication.

Call it what you may, everyone dreams of being someone or doing something different when they grow up. Some dream of being astronauts, rocket scientists, space explorers… Some dream of being clowns, comedians and running away to a circus. Still others wish to be lawyers, doctors, cricketers or superstars.

The sky, as they say, is the limit to your dreams… But what’s the fun if you keep it all to yourself? So why not put pen to paper, or finger to keyboard, and share with us what you dream of being, when you grow up? You can mail your dreams, along with your photograph to husnakghs@ yahoo.com or send it by snailmail to ‘Junior Observer’, No. 35, D.R. Wijewardene Mawatha, Colombo 10.
