Forty five talented young artists carry away Rs. 5,55,000

A whopping 12,500 drawings competed at the Children’s Art Competition organised by the Commercial Bank’s flagship Children’s Savings Account, Arunalu recently.

The Arunalu Siththam Art Competition was open to schoolgoing children from 15th January 2017 to 31st March 2017, inviting drawings from three different age categories: Grades 1-3, Grades 4-6 and Grades 7-9.

Young artists were allowed to choose their own topics and the colour media to express themselves.

At the conclusion of the competition 45 talented children took home prizes totalling Rs 5,55,000.

The first prize winners of each category were awarded Rs 50,000, while the second and third placed winners received Rs 35,000 and Rs 25,000 respectively. Cash prizes of Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 were presented to the fourth and fifth placed winners of every category.

The winners of Category One: D. Dojitha Hettiarachchi (First), N. A. Tinaya Senuli (Second), W. Senuki Kiyar (Third), W. M. R. A. Tharushika Fernando (Fourth) and Kirubananthan Jeewan (Fifth).

Category Two: First to fifth placed winners: M. Rividuni Jayasooriya, S. Dahamsa Hettiarachchi, P. Dulkini Halpe Gamage, Chathura Wickramasinghe Senanayake and R. M. T. Ramika Ranasinghe respectively.

Category Three: M. A. P. Dilshan Muthukumara, K. C. Anjana Ariyarathne, Pannakaparan Prakash, Lajitha Ariharan and N. N. D. Sudilaprabha Sooriyabandara Kulathilake.
