1939. Nazi, Germany, during the Second World War. This story is a book which is narrated by someone who will visit everyone, death. It is about a girl named Liesel, who is living with a foster family on Himmel Street, because her parents have been taken away to a concentration camp. This story tells us about her life, her experiences with her new family, and the friends she meets on Himmel Street. This story also includes an accordionist, fanatical Germans and a Jewish fist fighter.
The story is written by Markus Zusak. The Book Thief is an international best seller. It is a sad, exciting book of Markus Zusak. What is interesting is that he has said that death will visit the book thief thrice. But why has he nicknamed Liesel, ‘the book thief’? What happens during the war? What happens to her house, and what happens to her friends and family? We don’t know. Ask the book thief herself.
