I am Chamodhi Sanjula. I study at Royal Institute, Gampaha. I am in Grade Six. My ambition is to become a policewoman so that I could check on road traffic, thieves and other mischief-makers. My parents will also give me a helping hand in my endeavour. So, to become a good policewoman, I must get trained for at least an year. I will earn a salary and serve my country. I will study hard and achieve my ambition and become a good policewoman.
Hope, wish, fantasy….
Call it what you may, everyone dreams of being someone or doing something different when they grow up. Some dream to be astronauts, rocket scientists, space explorers… Some dream of being clowns, comedians at a circus. Still others wish to be lawyers, doctors, cricketers or superstars.
The sky, as they say, is the limit to your dreams… But what’s the fun if you keep it all to yourself? So why not put pen to paper, or finger to keyboard, and share with us what you want to be, when you grow up? You can mail your dreams, along with your photographs to husnakghs@ yahoo.com or send it by snailmail to ‘Junior Observer’, No. 35, D.R. Wijewardene Mawatha, Colombo 10.
