The Hakgala Botanical gardens is situated 16 km from Nuwara Eliya. It is at an elevation of 5400 feet above sea level. The park is 28 hectares in extent. At first it had Cinchona plants and later on a tea cultivation. The park has a cold climate from December to February. The Hakgala Botanical Gardens is famous for orchids. It is a very beautiful garden. I love the garden.
