Happy Father's Day (Poems)

18 June, 2017

My Dad

My father is a man like no other.

He gave me life, nurtured me,

Taught me, dressed me, fought for me,

Held me, shouted at me, kidded me,

But more importantly,

He loved me unconditionally.

There are not enough words I can say,

To describe just how important

My father was to me,

And what a powerful influence

He continues to be.

I Love you Dad.

Dad's ray of love

From the time I was

A baby

Tenderly cradled in your large hands,

At each stage of my life,

Respect and pride,

Shone from eyes like mine,

Dad, you've

Always been there,

Your unconditional love, bright like a beacon.

Daddy, daddy

Daddy, daddy let me say,

I love you in every way.

I love you for all you do,

I love you for being you.

Daddy, daddy let me say,

Have a Happy Father's Day!

Walk alongside me

Walk alongside me, Daddy and hold my hand,

have so many things to learn that I don't yet understand

Teach me things to keep me safe from dangers every day

Show me how do my best at home, at school and at play.

Every child needs a gentle hand to guide them as they grow,

So walk alongside me, Daddy, We have a long way to go.

"Walk a little slower, daddy"

"Walk a little slower, daddy,"

said a little child so small.

"I'm following in your footsteps,

and I don't want to fall.

Sometimes your steps are

very fast,

Sometimes they're hard to see,

So walk a little slower, Daddy,

For you are leading me.

Someday when I'm all grown up,

You're what I want to be,

Then I will have a little child,

Who'll want to follow me.

And I would want to lead

just right,

And know that I was true;

So, walk a little slower, Daddy,

For I must follow you."
