My favourite book is called Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. It lets us experience the journeys and feelings of a modern teenager named Percy Jackson as he finds out that he belongs in an ancient world, that his father is Poseidon, the ancient Greek god of the sea from a thousand years ago, and that the ancient gods still exist in the modern world. But that isn’t all. Percy finds out that he was never meant to exist, that Poseidon had sworn never to have a child with a human again. And when the master bolt of Zeus, king of the gods, goes missing, he threatens war with Poseidon. A war with the earth as a battleground that would destroy everything Percy had known. So with two new friends, a girl named Annabeth and the satyr Grover, Percy sets off on a dangerous quest. It is a quest riddled with dangers, other gods and ancient monsters awakening, in an attempt to recover the master bolt and save the world.

This book is the beginning of a spellbinding series by Rick Riordan. The Lightning Thief was first published in 2005 by Miramax Books, and it is now popular all over the world.
