The British School in Colombo (BCS) celebrated Vesak at the school premises recently. The significance of Vesak in the Buddhist calendar, life of the Buddha and the significant beliefs of the Buddhist philosophy were narrated at the event. This was accompanied by devotional songs led by the School Choir and instrumentalists. It was a wonderful opportunity for all members of the international community to celebrate and mark a significant event that is important to Buddhists in Sri Lanka.
