For my 11th birthday I asked my parents to buy me story books. The Diary of a Young Girl written by Anne Frank is the one that I chose to read first as it’s a true story. It was first published in English in the year 1952. Anne Frank is a charming teenage Jewish girl who lived during World War II. Her family had to stay secretly in a hiding place for two years to protect them from the Nazi military. She fondly called her diary 'Kitty' and wrote her feelings and their routine life in the hiding place. I liked the fact that Anne was a cheerful person even though they were in an awful situation. Although the story has a sad ending, I like the way Anne expressed her feelings and I felt like I was with her throughout her journey. After reading this I started to write my own diary.
