Turtles are magnificent creatures who have been on Earth for more than 100 million years. They are considered as Omnivores and they eat almost everything. Turtles and tortoises are the only reptiles that have a shell. They put their head and legs inside their shell to hide from predators that eat them. Tortoises have an excellent sense of smell. Tortoises are nearly as old as Dinosaurs. Turtles move at very slow speed and so it’s important to have a shell that protects them from predators. Did you know that turtles don’t have ears or teeth but they can feel the vibration? This can be very dangerous for the turtles as they might eat the plastic bags thinking that they are Jelly fish and they die. You could help turtles and tortoises by not littering oceans, rivers and lakes and start recycling. The Government should have a law that could stop killing turtles and tortoises.
