My motherland is Sri Lanka. It is a greener flourished island in the Indian Ocean. There are Sinhalese, Tamils, Muslims, Malays and Burgers in the country. The Capital city is Sri Jayewardenapura Kotte. The national flower is blue Water Lilly and the national bird is Jungle Fowl. The national animal is Giant Squirrel.
My country is famous for its scenic beauty. There are beautiful rivers, waterfalls, streams and mountains in Sri Lanka. The longest river is Mahaweli while the highest waterfall is Babarakanda. And the highest mountain is Piduruthalagala. Sri Lanka is famous for its attractive coastal line.
There are eight world heritages in Sri Lanka. Some of them are in Polonnaruwa and Anuradhapura cities; Sinharaja, a tropical forest; Sigiriya, a fortress.
I am very proud to be a Sri Lankan. Let’s do our best to protect our country.
