Percy Jackson and the Lightening Thief is one of the best books I have read so far. The Percy Jackson series consists of five books. These books are written by Rick Riordan and are published by Puffin books.

The books are filled with a fantastic blend of myth and modernism, to fascinate the readers into reading more of his books. The main character in these books is Perseus Jackson or Percy Jackson for short. At the beginning, Percy Jackson was a normal kid, playing basket ball, the usual, until he accidently vaporizes his Maths teacher, who he later discovers is a monster. Grover Underwood, his friend is a Satyr.

As the monsters realize that Percy is a half-blood, they hunt him down. Before they are attacked, Percy Jackson and his friend Grover Underwood go to Camp Half-Blood. Percy discovers that his father is Poseidon, and things get a whole lot tougher. Zeus, God of the Sky, thinks that Percy Jackson has stolen his lightning bolt. And making Zeus angry is a very bad idea. So Percy Jackson, Grover Underwood and Annabeth Chase go through a hair-raising adventure to retrieve it. I liked this book very much because you can learn all about the Greek Gods, as well as read an awesome tale of fiction written by Rick Riordan.
