Holidaying at a botanical garden

2 April, 2017

During the school holidays, we planned to go to the countryside and visit the nearest botanical gardens. I couldn’t wait for this day. Finally, it arrived. We packed our backpacks and went to the Seethawaka Wet Zone Botanical Gardens by car. We bought tickets at the entrance.

There were rows of beautiful roses, carnations and dahlias in the gardens, and there was a lake behind these flowers. There were many huge trees that took away our weariness. Next, we went on a boat ride on a beautiful swan boat. We paddled the boat and enjoyed the beauty of the lake with its crystal clear waters. After the boat ride, we sat under a tree and ate sandwiches. Then we began to walk again and came across a forest trail. It was covered with bushes, huge trees and little streams. We saw fish in the streams. It was a lovely sight. Then we came to another part of the garden which was called ‘The Rose Paradise’. It was full of many varieties of roses and the fragrance spread all over the gardens. After enjoying the wonders of the gardens, we returned home happily.
