The Ajanta Caves is a unique world heritage site in India. The Ajanta Caves are located in the Aurangabad district of Maharashtra. The first Buddhist cave monuments in Ajanta, date from the first and second centuries B.C. During the Gupta period, many more richly decorated caves were added to the original group. There are about 30 caves in the range.
