My country is Sri Lanka. It is an island in the Indian Ocean. It is part of the Asian continent. It is also known as the Pearl of the Indian Ocean. The capital of my country is Sri Jayawardanepura, Kotte. There are nine provinces and 25 districts in Sri Lanka. It is an agricultural country and our staple food is rice. There are Sinhalese, Tamils, Muslims and Burghers in my country. They live happily and peacefully. Piduruthalagala is the highest mountain, and the Mahaweli is the longest river. There are many interesting places such as Sigiriya, Sinharaja, Horton Plains and the Dunhinda Waterfall. I’m very proud of my country.
