My favourite flower

29 January, 2017

My favourite flower is the temple flower. We call it ‘Araliya’ in Sinhala. It has a nice smell. It has five petals. It grows on tall trees. It blooms at any time of the year. We can see temple flowers in white, pink, yellow, and dark red. I like the pink temple flower the most. Temple flowers are used in many ways. I offer temple flowers to Lord Buddha. Temple flowers are used to make flower bouquets, garlands and wreaths. People sell temple flowers near Buddhist religious places. They make an income out of it. I like it because I can take it to the temple. I like its fragrance. I have planted temple flowers in my garden.
