The novel Matilda is a famous book written by Roald Dahl and illustrated by Quentin Blake. It is one of my favourite books. The book was published in 2013 by Puffin books. This story tells us about a five-year-old girl named Matilda. She is an extraordinary, brilliant and sensitive girl. She loves to read books and she is also a girl with mystical powers. Her parents and Mr. and Mrs. Wormwood think their daughter is stupid. She is blamed by her parents without any reason. Due to that she does mischievous activities to her parents especially her father in a secretive manner.

The Wormwoods enter Matilda to a school which is ruled by an evil head mistress named Mrs. Trunchbull who thinks all her pupils are rotten. Matilda meets a teacher named Miss Honey who is good, kind and calm. Matilda also meets a good friend named Lavender. Even though she has stupid parents, she is greatly assisted by Miss Honey and Lavender. Although Matilda is a little girl, she shows the horrible grown-ups that she has powerful tricks up her sleeve. Matilda contains 21 chapters with 233 pages. I love to read this book over and over because it gives laughter, curiosity and enjoyment.
