
Sports are activities which we can do to get mental, social and spiritual well being. “Healthy mind in a healthy body.” This is an old saying which gives you an idea about the relationship between sports and health. Sports are mainly of two types called indoor and outdoor sports. Some examples for indoor activities are chess, carrom and table tennis. Outdoor activities are cricket, netball and volleyball. By doing sports we get many advantages. Our greatest wealth is health. Sports are effective in minimising health problems. Sports give us many qualities like leadership, patience, empathy, sympathy and tolerance. Sports give us the opportunity to develop our hidden talents and to work as a team. Sports teach us many good things in many ways. By doing sports, we practise how to take up both defeat and victory. Sports help us gain mental happiness and satisfaction.
