The latest book I read was Johanna Spyri’s Heidi. It was first published in 1881. It is a story about an orphaned little girl named Heidi. After her parents’ death, Heidi is looked after by her mother’s sister Dete. Later Heidi is given to her grandfather Alm to look after due to her living difficulties. A neighbouring goathed Peter becomes her close friend at the new place. They share their day-to-day life with each other. Meanwhile, one day Dete comes back and takes Heidi to Frankfurt to work with a little girl called Clara. Heidi becomes literate and disciplined during her stay there. Later on Heidi returns to her village and everyone welcomes her warmly. Heidi, Clara and Peter are embedded in my memory by reading Heidi.
