A science fair was organised by the Science Society of Hejaaz International School themed ‘Let’s Make Science Fun’ recently at the Jayananda Hall, Dehiwela. This was a unique attempt to help understand science in a simple and yet interactive and enjoyable. The importance of science in our day to day life was showcased. The exhibits were all simple experiments that created awareness of science to the visitors who thronged to have a close look at the exhibits.
This is the first time that a science fair of this nature was held in Sri Lanka where every single exhibit was demonstrated and explained to the public individually. Most of the exhibits dealt with Chemistry and Physics. The suggestion box left at the exit point was filled with comments of high praise and encouragement. The untiring efforts of the teachers, the commitment shown by the students and the encouragement and advice given by the management went a long way in making this event a huge attraction and success.
