The Kingfisher

6 November, 2016

Staring with very sharp slim eyes,

Was she, now, on a high cliff.

Her hands made a tapping sound,

Her blue feathers are majestic.

With such pride she stands,

A beak so sharp and thin,

With the colour of blood.

So majestic, she stands, So still, the blood,

Of royalty running through her veins.

And now soaring into the sky, above all, innocent souls,

A point no one can achieve.

Above water, I see,

Checking her reflection,

Or was it not, she seek,

A heart so dark.

And now, watching closely,

Something, something moves in the ripples at the lake.

The water stood silent,

She's got demon eyes, and now,

Watching closely,

A movement in the water.

She makes her move,

As I stand there watching,

Within a blink of an eye,

I hear the gushing of water.
