On the last day of the last term, I was lucky enough to watch the movie 'Akeelah and the Bee.' It is about a spelling bee competition. The main character is Akeelah who is a fatherless child. Akeelah is one of the best students at Crenshaw Middle School. She gets a chance to participate in the District Spelling Bee. The film tries to give the message that if one has devotion and dedication they will succeed.
