Car thieves look out!

Reviewed by Ryhanna Salie

Would you like to know how a secret society of seven little children solves mysteries? Good Work, Secret Seven by Enid Blyton is about seven curious and adorable children Peter, Janet, Jack, Pam, Colin, George and Barbara who form a secret society called the Secret Seven. They meet in a shed at the bottom of Peter and Janet's garden.

A usual day turns scary as Peter and Janet realise that their father's car is being stolen when he steps out to the station. The thieves don't realise that the children are in the back seat! Peter and Janet manage to escape and decide to find out more about the car thieves, little realising that they are a part of a dangerous gang. The Secret Seven decides to look for the car thieves although the police are also on their trail.

The novel takes the reader on an adventure with seven little children who solve a crime meant for detectives. It tells an interesting story about the Secret Seven society, and their methods in solving intriguing mysteries.

Percy Jackson

My favourite book is Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters. It is written by Rick Riordan. It is a very famous book. It is very interesting and adventurous. Rick Riordan takes the reader back to the stories of the Greek, and then shakes the cobwebs out of them. It is a fantastic blend of mythology with modern life. The main character of this book is Percy Jackson. His father is Poseidon, god of the sea and his mother is Mrs. Jackson. Percy is a half-blood. His friends are Annabeth, Tyson and Grover. Grover is a Satyr and Tyson is a Cyclops. All half-bloods must travel to Camp Half-Blood. From there young heroes embark on dangerous quests to prove their bravery. This book explains their dangerous and adventurous journey to get the golden fleece to protect Camp Half-Blood from monsters. I love this book as it is cool, thrilling and very funny. We can learn a lot of good qualities from Percy's character as he is very brave.

The lost Hero

The Lost Hero is a book known for its modern ways of retelling the Greek mythologies. Disney publishing worldwide helped in publishing this book which was born in the bedside of Rick Riordan's son. Since 2010 this book has evolved into a series with its own fan base.

Revolving around the three characters Jason, Piper and Leo this book speaks to the hearts of the readers. All of the three characters have problems of their own, yet they all team up putting their differences away to form a team for the greater good. The threesome storm through giant kings, the queen of the gods and an angry storm goddess with only friendship and teamwork. Taken place in the world of gods this book spiked my interest in mythology. I like this book especially because of the way the story is laid out. I hope more books like this will be written.
