Magical Lands
Reviewed by Ryhanna Salie
Would you like to have another adventure in the Enchanted Wood? The Magic Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton continues the story of Joe, Beth and Frannie. In this novel, their cousin Rick comes to stay with them. It's a magical world on top of the Faraway Tree! All the children are amazed by the magic they witness in lands such as the Land of Toys, the Land of Spells, the Land of Dreams, the Land of Topsy-Turvy and the Land of Presents.
The most exciting adventure the children have is in the Land of Toys. They meet talking toys who they never thought could talk! They also see beautiful dolls’ houses, toy shops and toy stations. Teddy bears, dolls, stuffed animals and clockwork toys are running and walking about, talking and laughing. Joe, Beth and Frannie give their mother a surprise when they bring Moon-Face and Saucepan-Man down from the Faraway Tree to visit. Their peculiar adventures continue as Rick grows very tall after drinking a magic potion by mistake, and he has to bend down so that his head doesn't touch the roof. The novel takes the reader on a trip to many magical lands where interesting people live. The novel ends on a happy note with the children taking home beautiful presents for their parents.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is written by J.K Rowling, and it is the eighth book in the series. Harry is now a grown up, and a husband and has three children. One of them, Albus is hardly living up to his father's reputation. Albus and his friend Scorpius go on a hunt to change the past and make the future. But as Albus messes up their plans, Scorpius is trapped in the past. Harry Potter and Scorpius's father try to find the boys. But when they finally find them, Scorpius has already found the Time-Turner and turned everything back to normal. This story is very exciting and thrilling and it continues. The Dark Lord Voldemort's daughter Delphi tries to contact her father, believing that he is not dead. Harry disguises himself as Voldemort and goes to meet her. But Delphi recognises him and escapes. Harry Potter and his family go back home, and Harry teaches Albus a lesson. Never try to change the past and let it be as it is.

Amba Yahaluwo
Amba Yahaluwo is my favourite book. It is a novel written by the well known writer T.B. Ilangarathna. Amba Yahaluwo is a very interesting story. This book has been translated into English. The main characters in the story are two boys. They are Sunil and Nimal. Sunil is a rich boy and Nimal is a poor boy. But they are close friends. We can learn many good qualities of Sunil and Nimal through this novel. It is an enjoyable story about children like us.
