
Sithija Niran Samarawickrama of Methodist Junior School in Urugamuwa, Matara topped the Grade 5 scholarship examination with 196 marks. Ruwanya Nethmini Gunasekara of Subharathi Junior School at Assedduma in Kuliyapitiya and Kokulathasan Abhishegan of Rambekulama Government school, Vavuniya are placed second with 195 marks. There are nine students who had obtained the third place.
They are Nadini Rajapaksa of Dedigama Primary School, Thejana Wijekoon of Subharathi Junior School at Assedduma, Kuliyapitiya, Nethmi Subodhini of Ibbagamuwa Model School, Udayarajan Koshikan of R.K.M. Sri Koneshvara Hindu College at Trincomalee, Senith Rajapaksa of Giriulla Wickremashila Central College, Inesh Dulanjana of Joseph Vaas College at Wennappuwa, Lisandi Handapangoda of Horana Royal College, Rehara Binoli Miskin of Munidasa Kumarathunga Junior School at Kaduwela, Bomiriya and Umashankar Jayeni at Hindu Primary School, Jaffna. The district cut off marks were also released. The cut off mark for Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Kandy, Matale, Galle, Matara and Kurunegala districts in the Sinhala Medium is 159 and 153 for the Tamil Medium.
The cut off mark for Hambantota, Puttalam and the Ratnapura districts is 156 for the Sinhala medium.
