The World Children's Day tea party at Kingsbury Hotel, Colombo on October 1 was a memorable day for 130 orphaned children from seven orphanages at Gampaha, Kalutara, Negombo, Meerigama and Avissawella.
The Bouncy Castles, Face Painting, Magic Show by Shellon, Digital Games, gift packs from the Kingsbury staff and above all the lavish tea party, kept all the children in a happy mood
The event was organised at Kingsbury Hotel Oval. For many children, dressed in their best, it was a new experience. The Bouncy Castles, Face Painting, Magic Show by Shellon, Digital Games, gift packs from the Kingsbury staff and above all a lavish tea party, kept all the children in a happy mood throughout the evening. So much so that it was a difficult task for the heads of the orphanages to get the children back on the bus to head back home!
The Kingsbury is also on the look out for “The Kingsbury Junior Ambassador of Goodwill”, aimed at teaching good habits amongst children, spirit of sharing and giving, respect for elders to ensure a better and righteous society.
