My name is Sandaru Chamod Ranaweera. I study in Grade Three at Malimbada Sumedha Maha Vidyalaya, Matara. My ambition is to become an engineer when I grow up. Engineers design materials, structures, and systems. The word engineer is derived from the Latin words ingeniare (“to contrive, devise”) and ingenium (“cleverness”). I am good at doing sums. My favourite subject is Mathematics. It is an important subject for one to become an engineer. I will study hard and achieve my ambition.

Call it what you may, everyone dreams of
being someone or doing something different when they grow up. Some dream of being astronauts, rocket scientists, space explorers… Some dream of being clowns, comedians and running away to a circus. Still others wish to be lawyers, doctors, cricketers or superstars.
The sky, as they say, is the limit to your dreams… But what’s the
