Dawn of a new future with digital technology

Programmes are conducted at district level to em-power school Information and Communication Technology (ICT) student societies by the ICT branch of the Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Information and Communication Technology Agency. The programme was conducted to sensitize schoolchildren about the new production opportunities and the knowledge of ICT in creating a Sri Lanka empowered with digital technology. The second stage of this programme was conducted in Ratnapura and Kegalle districts recently.

Principals, ICT student societies and ICT teachers participated in the ICT workshops conducted by the ministry. The resource persons of the programme were the Program Manager, ICT Agency, Sameera Jayawardana, Project Assistant, Thilina Dissanayaka, Project Manager, Mihiri Dissanayaka, Project Assistant, Aminda James, Director, ICT Branch of the Ministry of Education, G.M. Neel Gunadasa and Assistant Director of Education, H.P. Rukmalee.
