MCA cricket sets the game alive out of Colombo

CDB Finance registered a thrilling win by one run in the final delivery over HNB in the final of the MCA six-a-side cricket tournament held at the Galle International Stadium yesterday.

It marked the first time that the Mercantile Cricket Association (MCA) ventured out of Colombo.

HNB batted first and scored 100 runs for one wicket in five overs as Madhawa Warnapura was unbeaten on 35 runs.

In reply CDB Finance reached the target scoring 101 runs in the last delivery of the innings.

Chanaka Ruwnasiri of CDB carried away three main trophies and was adjudged man of the final.
