The launching ceremony of the Thulawa Law Magazine of the Faculty of Law, University of Colombo was held at the New Arts Theatre of the University of Colombo recently.
President of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka, President’s Counsel Saliya Peiris was the Chief Guest, while visiting Lecturer of the Faculty of Law, University of Colombo, President’s Counsel Prasantha Lal De Alwis and Secretary of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka, Senior Attorney-at-Law Rajeev Amarasuriya were the Guests of Honour.
The Thulawa Law magazine, which is the official student publication of the Faculty of Law was first launched in 2016.
The publication has been kept retained in the past few years. A group of present undergraduates of the faculty has taken up the responsibility of the magazine and have re-launched the Thulawa Law magazine. Twenty-three scholar articles and essays have been published in the magazine. Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor emphasized the importance of authoring articles and publishing them assolitary products of the undergraduates of the Faculty of Law.
The program deliberations were conducted on the theme of ‘Right to Privacy in Cyber space’. An panel discussion was conducted by the guests of honour. The audience had the opportunity of clearing their doubts by getting their questions answered by the panel of experts.
