Yupun Abeykoon
Italy-based Sri Lankan sprinter Yupun Abeykoon once again came to the limelight when he shattered the 60m indoor Sri Lanka record, clocking 6.59 seconds at the Italian indoor competition last week.
Abeykoon clocked the timing during the heats. The previous record was also held by him when he clocked 6.78 seconds in 2017.
Abeykoon last year became an overnight sensation after setting a new national and South Asian record in the men’s 100m event at an International meet held in Dessau, Germany, clocking 10.16 seconds(DR)
