Lt. Commander Theresa Donnelly, Public Affairs Officer of US aircraft carrier, USS Nimitz takes the Lankan mediapersons around the cruiser USS Princeton which docked at the Colombo Port yesterday. The Nimitz Carrier Strike Group which included USS Nimitz, the cruiser USS Princeton, and destroyers USS Howard, USS Shoup, USS Pinckney and USS Kidd arrived at the Colombo Port, reflecting the growing relationship between the US and Sri Lankan navies. This was the first time a US aircraft carrier has visited Sri Lanka since 1985. The ships are due to depart Colombo on October 31.
