Commissioner General, Examinations, W.M.N.J.Pushpakumara told the Sunday Observer, Thursday (28) that his Department will issue the results of the Grade Five Scholarship Examination -2017 on October 5.
This examination was held on August 20, 2017, countrywide and about 356,000 school candidates sat the examination.
Meanwhile, Minister of Education, and Kurunegala District Parliamentarian, Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, told the Sunday Observer, that he has instructed his Ministry officials to take steps to increase the food allowances granted to all resident teacher trainees of National Colleges of Education countrywide.
They are following three- year teacher training courses at 17 National Colleges of Education, and about 4,500 trainees are housed in these Colleges.
They are paid Rs.3,500 monthly as food allowance, which would now be increased to Rs 5,000 a month.
